Arizona voters approved a ballot measure to give some law enforcement greater authority to enforce immigration-related laws typically left to the federal government.

Proposition 139, Arizona's abortion rights ballot measure, has been approved by voters, the Associated Press reports.

Proposition 314 would make it a state crime to cross the Arizona border unlawfully and allow local police to arrest migrants.

An overwhelming number of Arizona voters backed a GOP ballot measure, which authorizes local law enforcement and state judges to respectively arrest and deport illegal immigrants who cross the southern border outside official ports of entry.

This proposition would make it a crime for those in the country illegally to apply for benefits or employment with false information; to enter the state outside lawful ports of entry; and to refuse to comply with orders to leave the U.
