Penn State’s Tyler Warren, Zakee Wheatley take home Fiesta Bowl Player of the Game honors
Warren was the first tight end named Fiesta Bowl offensive player of the game since Boise State’s Kyle Efaw in 2010. He was also just the third tight end to score multiple receiving touchdowns in the Fiesta Bowl (Notre Dame’s Michael Mayer in 2022, Florida State’s Reggie Johnson in 1990).

Penn State took care of business in Phoenix Tuesday night, defeating Boise State 31-14 in the Fiesta Bowl. Running back Kaytron Allen and others played key roles in the win, but it was tight end Tyler Warren and safety Zakee Wheatley who earned offensive and defensive MVP honors following the game.

Tyler Warren was named the Fiesta Bowl offensive mopst valuable player. Warren made two incredible touchdown catches in the back of the end zone. Warren, this year’s Mackey Award winner, gave Penn State a 7-0 lead int eh first quarter with the first of his two touchdown grabs.
