The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Wednesday that General Motors is recalling about 2,890 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles due to concerns about their adaptive cruise control. The recall affects certain 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV all-wheel drive electric vehicles.

Unless, that is, you're driving certain examples of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV. Those are being recalled because a problem with the brake module means that they could fail to brake when the adaptive cruise system is on, potentially leading to a crash and perhaps worse.

As a reminder, there are currently no driver’s assistance systems that are fully autonomous; drivers are 100 percent responsible for everything their car does on public roads, even if you engage a system that’s called “hands free,” autopilot, or full self driving.
