Northern Kentucky counties have gone red in U.S. presidential races for decades, highlighted most recently by enthusiastic support for former President Donald Trump in 2016 and in 2020. In 2024, the counties are expected to stay Republican-dominated for the presidential race.

With no election for statewide office on the ballot in Kentucky this year, the school-choice measure was the most intensely debated issue of the fall campaign. Advocates on both sides ran TV ads and mounted grassroots efforts to make their case in the high-stakes campaign.
