Amendment No. 1 expands the commitment to the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund to add federal money Louisiana receives from offshore wind, solar and other other alternative or renewable energy sources generated in federal Gulf waters off the state’s coast. Monies would come from federal lease sales, operating fees and other agreements.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Louisiana’s Republican leaders are poised to gain more influence in Washington as President-Elect Donald Trump begins his second term.

Louisiana’s oil and gas industry, one of the state’s largest economic engines, supports nearly 300,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to the Louisiana Department of Economic Development. Industry advocates say Trump’s return to the White House could mean positive changes for the sector.
