EST the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory valid for Saturday between 1 a.m. EST and 7 p.m. EST for Chippewa, Mackinac and Charlevoix counties.

"Snowfall amounts are expected to be near 6 inches close to the Michigan border with lesser amounts farther south," the NWS office in northern Indiana said on X. "Much Colder air will follow with highs mostly in teens Monday through Thursday."

Elsewhere in southern Michigan, a mix of snow and freezing drizzle could bring up to 2 inches of accumulation by 1 p.m. Saturday to Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Branch and Hillsdale counties. Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties could all get up to 4 inches by 7 p.m.
