Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava expressed deep disappointment Tuesday with the Florida Legislature for passing and sending a bill to Gov. Ron DeSantis' desk that effectively bans fluoride from public drinking water.

Florida is poised to ban fluoride in public drinking water, over the concerns of dentists and public health advocates who say the mineral is a safe, effective way to protect people of all ages from developing cavities.
