The last time we saw Will Smith playing a superhero was back when he decided to do DC’s Suicide Squad in 2016. But before that, Smith played an unconventional superhero in the high-grossing 2000s movie Hancock.

To be mildly fair to Smith, it’s worth remembering that, despite a mixed critical reception, superhero deconstruction Hancock actually did pretty good money when it came out back in 2008, bringing in nearly $630 million in theaters.

On a Twitch live stream, Will Smith teased a "really cool" idea for "Hancock 2" and mentioned that Zendaya is being approached for a role.
