HOUSTON — All Houston airports will close Tuesday due to the winter storm expected in the area, officials said Sunday. An arctic front with wintry precipitation is expected to move into the area overnight Monday.

Thousands of flights at three airports were canceled amid a storm that caused "extremely hazardous" travel conditions in the Houston region.

The Terminal B lobby at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) will temporarily close on Jan. 21, marking a significant milestone in United Airlines ’ $2.5 billion project to redevelop the terminal. The lobby is expected to reopen in 2026, according to a Houston Airport System press release.
