Ryanair said the unruly passenger caused the flight to be delayed overnight, costing the airline $15,000, including accommodation for 160 passengers.

Ryanair has filed legal proceedings against a passenger it says disrupted a flight and forced it to be diverted, and is seeking 15,000 euros ($15,500) in damages, the Irish airline said on Wednesday.

Ryanair has launched a £12,500 legal claim against a passenger whom the airline alleges disrupted a flight to the Canary Islands last year.
