Either way, Boxing Day isn’t an official holiday in the United States. Some do celebrate it on their own time and there are certainly some post-Christmas sales to take advantage of. But you likely won’t find any blowout Boxing Day events or traditions here.

To many, Dec. 26 is simply the day after Christmas or the second night of Hanukkah. But to others, it's Boxing Day.

If you’re a last-minute shopper, Cadillac Fairview’s Pacific Centre in downtown Vancouver will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day, and open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Boxing Day.

All LCBO stores will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Select locations of the Beer Store and local breweries might be the best way to get a drink on Dec. 26. The Beer Store at 111 Silvercreek Pkwy. N. will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Boxing Day, as well as the location at 710 Woolwich St.
