The crew of the Eagle S oil tanker, suspected of sabotaging underwater cables in the Baltic Sea, planned to damage other cables and pipelines. This did not happen because the vessel was detained, Reuters reports.

Risto Lohi of the National Bureau of Investigation had told Reuters the vessel was threatening to cut a second power cable, Estlink1, the backup for the Estlink 2, and the BalticConnector gas pipe between Finland and Estonia at the time it was seized.
