A strong thunderstorm rolled into metro Denver on Thursday afternoon and was expected to bring wind gusts up to 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Damaging winds and hail so large it could cause injury to people and animals and damage buildings was expected with the storms.
The National Weather Service released a severe thunderstorm warning at 3:09 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until 4:15 p.m. for Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale and Lawrence counties.
