Helldivers 2' and 'Horizon Zero Dawn' will be getting movie adaptations. The former sci-fi shooter – which was developed by Arrowhead Game Studios – will make its way to the silver screen, with Sony Productions and Sony Pictures collaborating on the project.

Helldivers 2, from developer Arrowhead, is of course heavily inspired by cult classic sci-fi movie Starship Troopers. It sees soldiers of the future struggle to defend a fascist Super Earth regime against alien robots called Automatons and bugs called Terminids all the while preaching "Managed Democracy."

The Helldivers 2 film is one of a number of adaptations announced by Sony at CES, including film productions of Horizon Zero Dawn and Until Dawn, and an anime series based on Ghost of Tsushima — not to mention the release window for The Last of Us Season 2.
