Consumer Reports doesn't have a single 85 inch TV review! Sound bars the one I'm most likely going to buy from Samsung isn't reviewed by CR. The sound bar model from last year isn't reviewed either.

May 10, 2021 · Consumer Reports is the gold standard for ratings. They have been doing that for 50 years and have a very standard process. I believe KBB ratings are very subjective. KBB is the standard for used pricing but if you look closely it's very variable. Another tool for older cars is Dashboard Light.

Consumer Reports is only one source for input to make a decision. I don't like referring customers to CR because I don't believe that if they are looking to benefit "The Consumer," or that they should charge you for their review or opinion.

We used Consumer Reports in 2020 to choose new washer and dryer for new home. We purchased both LG units from Home Depot. Washer is WM3500CW. Dryer is DLE7100W. Believe they were about $750 each at that time not including the extra 5 year warranty for both machines. We use them about 2X per week and always with a full load.

I regularly use The Wirecutter for reviews and choices of all types of smaller items from baby stuff to TVs. Highly recommend!

Consumer Reports seems to just accept that vacuum cleaners should only last 5-10 years. If a SEBO only lasted 10 years, it would be considered premature failure. Their washing machine ratings... they actually recommend a Samsung washer, and not as a cruel joke either.
